    A bookmark is a mark of a point in the DVD movie. You may create and manage bookmarks when playing. In the next time playing, you need only click a bookmark to start playing from the point you set. You can create as many bookmarks as you like. You can delete a bookmark from the floating control panel.

    When playing a DVD movie, you may capture an image as you like by click the [capture] button or press a hot key you set in the options dialog. All images captured will be showing in floating control panel, and saved under the folder "AntsDVD\Snapshot".

  8. What is the secondary subtitle?
    Ants DVD Player allows you showing up to 2 different subtitles. This feature is very useful for learning a language. For example, if you want to learn Chinese language, you may set the primary language as "Chinese", and set the secondary language as "English", then there will be two subtitles displayed on the playing screen, one is "Chinese", the other is "English". If you want to close all subtitles, you need only set both primary and the secondary subtitles to "off".

  9. What is audio amplify?
    Ants DVD Player has a built-in digital audio amplifier. Sometimes if the largest sound volume of your computer is still too low to hear, you may set the "Audio Amplify" to a larger value from the list: 200%, 300%, 400%, 500%. This feature is very useful to some laptop computers.

  10. What is the floating panel?
    Ants DVD Player has a built-in floating panel window, from there you can manage or create bookmarks, capture and manage images.

  11. How to bind or seperate the control panel?
    You need only double click on the control panel to bind it with the playing window or seperate it with the playing window.

  12. How to switch to full screen?
    Double click on the playing window to switch to full screen.

  13. When I launch the software, why it has no response?
    The software may be reading your DVD-ROM, you may eject the DVD-ROM to see if it will give a response.

    You may right click on the playing window, and select the language you want from the popup menu's "Audio Languages" sub menu.

    You may right click on the playing window, and set both "Primary Subtitle" and "Secondary Subtitle" to "off".

What is Sample Rate ?

A key defining characteristic of any digital audio signal is its sampling rate, usually just called the sample rate. This refers to how frequently the analog signal is measured during the sampling process. If you think about it, the reason why this is important is obvious: imagine that you had a recording of someone speaking, and you sampled the recording once per second. You'd end up with a lot of choppy noise. The more frequently the signal is sampled, the better the approximation to the original sound. What is Bit ?

Bit is also called Bit Depth. In digital audio, bit depth describes the number of bits of information recorded for each sample. Bit depth directly corresponds to the resolution of each sample in a set of digital audio data. Common examples of bit depth include CD quality audio, which is recorded at 16 bits, and DVD-Audio, which can support up to 24-bit audio.


What's the difference between Stereo and Mono ?

The terms stereo and mono are often used when referring to amplifier connections. A stereo amplifier has two independent channels, one left and one right. The left and right signals of the stereo signal are similar but not exactly the same. The two channels are used to give the audio a sense of depth. If one instrument or voice is only produced in the left channel, it will seem to originate from the left side of the listening area. If a particular sound is only slightly louder in one of the channels, that sound will seem to originate off center slightly toward the channel in which the sound is louder. If you have two speakers but supply mono signal to both of them, there will be no sense of separation or depth. If a mono signal fed to both channels of a stereo amplifier, with a speaker on each channel, the output will mono. If a stereo signal is fed to the same amp/speaker set up, the output will be stereo. If a speaker is bridged onto a stereo amplifier, the output of the speaker will be a mono output, even if the signal fed into the amplifier is a stereo signal.
